Joshua Boone

Joshua Boone

Joshua Boone can currently be seen starring as the lead of Netflix’s A Jazzman’s Blues, written, directed, and produced by Tyler Perry, which premiered worldwide at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film garnered Boone two 2023 NAACP Image Award nominations for Outstanding Actor in A Motion Picture and Outstanding Breakthrough Performance in a Motion Picture. Boone recently wrapped filming on Fleeing, starring opposite André Holland, Nicole Beharie, and DeWanda Wise, and it was recently announced that he will soon begin production on the Morgan Freeman-produced feature film, Last Meals, starring opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Boyd Holdbrook, and David Strathairn. He previously starred in Premature for director Rashaad Ernesto Green opposite Zora Howard and can also be seen in indie release Wheels for writer/director Paul Starkman. In 2018, he completed a guest star role on Seven Seconds for Netflix. Boone was recently seen on stage at MTC in Dominique Morisseau’s Tony-nominated Broadway production of Skeleton Crew, for which he was nominated for a Drama Desk Award, starring opposite Phylicia Rashad and Chanté Adams for Tony-winning actor/director Ruben Santiago-Hudson. Boone starred on stage at MCC in All The Natalie Portmans after previously starring in Ivo van Hove’s highly acclaimed Broadway production of Network opposite Bryan Cranston. Additional stage credits include Artney Jackson (Williamstown), Actually (MTC, Williamstown), Mother Courage and Her Children (Classic Stage Company), and Holler If Ya Hear Me (Broadway).
