Biography
Brendan Sheehan is so grateful to be making his Broadway debut in Gypsy! BFA: Boston Conservatory, Class of 2024. Thank you to casting, the creatives, and the wonderful team at Henderson Hogan for believing in me. So much love to my family and friends for their endless support! The biggest thank you to all of the educators who helped me grow along the way.

Zachary Daniel Jones

Zachary Daniel Jones can currently be seen twirling around the Ozdust Ballroom in Wicked. Zach made his Broadway debut in 2017 as Mungojerrie in the Broadway revival of Cats. Other New York credits include Beetlejuice (OBC) and the world premiere of Black No More off-Broadway. Originally from the west suburbs of Chicago, Zach earned his BFA in Musical Theater from The Boston Conservatory and has appeared in a dozen productions regionally (The Muny, TUTS). Zach currently resides in Brooklyn with his partner, Jesse and their two precious Jellicles, Mookie and Cha Cha. Gypsy will be his 4th Broadway show, and he is deeply honored and excited to “entertain” you!

Audra McDonald

Audra McDonald is unparalleled in the breadth and versatility of her artistry as both a singer and an actor. The winner of a record-breaking six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards and an Emmy, in 2015 she was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people and received the National Medal of Arts—America’s highest honor for achievement in the field—from President Barack Obama. In addition to her Tony-winning performances in Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin in the Sun, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess and Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill—the role that also served as the vehicle for her Olivier Award-nominated 2017 debut in London’s West End—she has appeared on Broadway in The Secret Garden; Marie Christine (Tony nomination); Henry IV; 110 in the Shade (Tony nomination); Shuffle Along, or, The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed; Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune (Tony nomination); and Ohio State Murders (Tony nomination). On television, she was seen by millions as the Mother Abbess in NBC’s The Sound of Music Live!, won an Emmy Award for her role as host of PBS’s Live From Lincoln Center, and received Emmy nominations for Wit, A Raisin in the Sun and Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill. Having played Dr. Naomi Bennett on Shonda Rhimes’s Private Practice (ABC) and Liz Reddick (formerly Lawrence) on both The Good Wife (CBS) and The Good Fight (Paramount+), she may now be seen as Dorothy Scott on Julian Fellowes’s The Gilded Age (HBO). McDonald is a Juilliard-trained soprano, whose opera credits include La voix humaine and Send at Houston Grand Opera, and Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny at Los Angeles Opera, where the resulting recording earned her two Grammy Awards. She has issued five solo albums on the Nonesuch label as well as Sing Happy with the New York Philharmonic on Decca Gold. She also maintains a major career as a concert artist, regularly appearing on the great stages of the world and with leading international orchestras. She is a founding member of Black Theatre United, board member of Covenant House International, and prominent advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, whose favorite roles are those performed offstage, as an activist, wife to actor Will Swenson, and mother.

Hunter Capellán

Hunter Capellán is very excited to be a part of Gypsy at Majestic Theater. His latest work was at the 97th Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade in The Deliciously Delectable World of Wonka skit. Hunter studies dance at Broadway Dance Center in New York City, and he loves being a 7th grader at Achievement First Bushwick Middle School. Hunter’s most enjoyable subject is history and favorite dance styles are Tap and Hip-Hop. He is motivated and inspired by his older sister, Jayla, who is training to dance professionally. When he’s not dancing or in school Hunter enjoys playing basketball and running track. Hunter’s goal is to continually develop his technique, refine his artistry and bring his unique talent to both stages and screens with hopes of inspiring other young kids along the way.

Sasha Hutchings

Sasha Hutchings is an actress, teaching artist, and creative producer. She appears as “Cowgirl” on WARRIORS, the new concept album from Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis. She played Laurey Williams in the Daniel Fish directed revival of Oklahoma! on Broadway and the National Tour. Sasha is an original cast member of Hamilton and featured in the Disney+ Hamilton Film. Additional Broadway: My Fair Lady, Rocky, Motown, and Memphis. Sasha stars as Hope on Run The World (STARZ). Additional TV: Elsbeth (CBS) Demascus (SXSW premiere), Fosse/Verdon, Blue Bloods, and SMASH. Sasha collaborates with public school theatre programs including Epic Theatre Ensemble and The Arthur Miller Foundation. She is represented by Innovative Artists and The Boothe Group.
