He was last seen in the Las Vegas company of The Lion King, playing the role of Mufasa. Broadway: Wicked (Fiyero), Aida, Swing! National tours: Wicked, Aida, Smokey Joe’s Cafe. TV: guest star on “Homeland,” “Chicago Med,” “Mysteries of Laura,” “Person of Interest,” “Heart of Dixie,” “Numb3rs,” “Ghost Whisperer” and “Chappelle’s Show.” Derrick can also be seen in several commercials that include Twix, McDonalds, Walmart, Sling and Toyota to name a few.
